I'm thinking that dinner tonight may be a Five Dollar Foot Long. Son won't be home tonight & I don't feel like cooking for just myself.

http://ping.fm/uagXx I'm sorry to say but Axl really is a bit of a nit.

Nude Beach in Norway: Will Axe Man Be taking it All Off?

Axe Man doesn't mind baring it all, no matter what the weather!
Norway! River music  nude beach  private isle  by @ @ @

Tempest found this advert on Twitter, Dahlings, and thought that perhaps a nice Norwegian vacation would be just the thing for the winter doldrums. Then she recalled that Norway is colder than a well-digger's ass, but probably not colder than Axe Man's ass. Death Cheese will be playing the Black Death Days festival in Axe Man's home town of Plaugen, Norway. Tempest decided to forego taking it all off on the nude beach, however, as last time she was so foolish she not only froze her nether regions but was mistaken for a beached whale and thrown back in the ocean!

http://ping.fm/Wm4hb When a one-time friend shows their true colors, and it isn't pretty.

True Colors

Something has bothered me for a long time--almost two months, to be exact. The issue is the abrupt end of an almost five years cumulative cyber friendship. The individual in question abruptly cut off communications with myself and all close associates after being quite rude to another friend. When dismay was expressed over this action but countered by a wish to support this individual, who was obviously very angry about something, said individual's response was to not only state a justification for their actions but to cut off communications.
Although very saddened by this action on part of this one time friend, I made a different decision than I ever had in the past. Rather than blaming and beating myself up both literally and figuratively, I did not cut or hit myself even once. Instead I came to the realization that no relationship is worth keeping if the other party treats one with disdain.
That this individual chose to take out their anger and unhappiness on a longtime associate displays something truly disturbing about their mindset. While if approached correctly I would certainly forgive them due to the long previous association, I would never forget and I would never fully trust them again knowing that they had this dark aspect to their psyche.
A person who takes out their anger on others and does not see fit to make amends for their actions is not a worthy friend. Therefore although the loss is unpleasant, so are the true colors of this one-time friend's soul, at least as they have been displayed to me.

Path of the Soul Card Reading

Tempest received her Path of the Soul Card Reading from Mystic Xenia, Dahlings. You can see it below. If you would like one, scroll down to the bottom of this blog! Good fortune be yours, Love!

THE SITUATION

ASCENSION
Your energetic field is in a state of change and expansion.  You have begun to vibrate at higher levels as your consciousness moves more in alignment with your Higher Self.  You are one of the fore runners working towards Ascension to raise the consciousness of the planet. The changes you are experiencing are not always comfortable, but they are necessary for your continued growth.  The true beauty of your soul is beginning to show and it has a positive and uplifting effect on others.

ACTIONS TO TAKE
THIRD EYE
The third eye rules psychic abilities and clairvoyance.  Although every human is born with the ability to see beyond the known, it does not mean they always access it.  Your intuitive gifts and abilities are very  strong.   When this card appears, it is because you are ready to move to the next level in the development of your inner seeing.  Intuitive development is important for your growth at this time.  Expanding your gifts not only benefits you, but also aids those who need the guidance and support you can provide from Source.

FINAL OUTCOME
THE DOVES
The Doves represent the cycling from the old to the new.  It is important to remember that you are not alone during these times in your spiritual journey.  The Doves are here to remind you to allow the peace and love to nurture you through this time of change.  You will receive the energy and strength to do what needs to be done.  You are fully supported.  Know that is OK to ask for the support you need.  This cycle will end soon and you will experience the full bounty and beauty of this wonderful growth.

http://ping.fm/wlOZc Gender stereotypes sadly alive and well in the 21st Century.

You Go, Little Star Wars Girl!

It galls me that in the twenty-first century crap like this still happens. Little six year old Katie is being bullied by proto-chauvinist classmates because she loves Star Wars. The boys tell her that Star Wars isn't for girls. This was my message for Katie. Follow this link if you'd like to leave her a positive message too!

I was always bullied for not adhering to gender roles. I hate, hate, hate the term Tomboy, for instance. My name isn't Tom and I'm not a boy. I was an active girl who enjoyed sports even if she was bad at them.
I was one of the first Star Wars fans--my brother and I saw it as soon as it came out! We waited in line for 3 hours. I was always bullied for my love of science fiction. I was not a "girly girl" at all.
I did love Barbies (obvious from my avatar, I suppose) but I also loved playing with Tonka trucks.
Bullies are small-minded, miserable people who make themselves big by making others feel small.
Keep being you!

Son and I were at the DMV for 5 hours today! Could have flown to New York in that amount of time! My sciatica is screaming bloody murder!

http://ping.fm/SCwTy Is suicide "selfish?"

Is Suicide "Selfish?"

I don't wish to create controversy on a friend's blog, and she is not the one that used the word "selfish" in regards to suicide anyway, it was a commenter who did so. So I am not going to leave a link to the blog. However, I did wish to share my thoughts on the matter.

I lost a cousin, a friend, and someone who was very special in almost a romantic way. My brother lost one of his friends. I've dealt with suicide ideation on and off throughout my life.
For those who think of suicide as "selfishness," I believe this is an erroneous idea. The pain that the person is suffering at the moment they make such a decision is indescribable. It is not for the rest of us to call them selfish. It is an erroneous decision--in most cases. But error and selfishness are two different things.
My cousin was not a selfish person. She lived with medication resistant depression for her entire life. She was unable to endure it any more.
Of the three young men I mentioned above who committed suicide--my friend, my brother's friend, and the special fellow I mentioned--all of them suffered from clinical depression and other issues.
Do I wish they hadn't done it? Yes. But it is erroneous to adjudge them "selfish."

http://ping.fm/YBauv Thoughts and good wishes for Pam of Pam's House Blend.

Get Well, Pam!

Pam Spaulding, the gutsy webmistress over at Pam's House Blend, a pro-GLBT equality blog, has had surgery for her fibroids. Although I am a straight, natal female, Pam's is a favorite stop. I am a full believer in equality and an end of prejudice towards gay/bisexual and transgendered people. I don't even understand why a there is a question whether or not homosexuals have a right to marry the person they love. I would not care if the person in the stall next to me in the ladies' room was born male but had surgery to transition to female because they had always felt as if they were in the wrong body. I have real issues that concern me. Anyone who is getting bent out of shape about Adam and Steve or Eve and Lilith marrying, or whether Susan, who is in the womens' changing room with them was born Solomon (or Solomon was born Susan) really needs to take a look at their motives. Why would such a thing even begin to concern you?
Pam and I do have something in common. We're both female, obviously. We both suffer from reproductive system issues. I'm not sure if I have fibriods because I haven't been to a gynecologist in more than 20 years. I do know that I have endometriosis. I have always had very heavy periods, which is attributable in part to hypothyroidism. Currently I have had my period for going on three weeks. I attribute this to being peri-menopausal, but if it goes on for much longer I suppose I'll be forced to go to the doctor--something that I don't have the time or money for.
Pam and I also both have fibromyalgia. Mine is fairly mild, but if I get overly tired it feels like I've been run over by a truck. The tiredness leads to more tiredness and to depression. A misunderstood disease, there are still those who believe that its "not a real problem." Believe it or not, some still think that bipolar disorder isn't a real disease either. I would invite them to walk a mile in our shoes and then judge.
One day, thanks to people like Pam, more and more people will become educated about the fact that PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE! It doesn't matter what their sexual orientation or whether they remain the gender that they were born. And mental illness, while a real concern, does not make a person any less deserving of love and respect. Let's treat each other with compassion. It is the one gift that we all can--and should--give to each other.

Is it just me or is the 1992 "Bram Stoker's Dracula" far more cheesy than I remember it being? Truly--what was up with Dracula's hair?

Good night/morning all. Must dash!

http://ping.fm/PWaaK Great garage rock--and I mean that as a compliment! Love this!

Trying my darndest to resist having a big early A.M. snack. Working nights is partially to blame for my being so "fluffy." I do get hungry!

I hate you, Ping.

Need to go do my walking rounds. Feels more like my sleepwalking rounds tonight! I'm so tired!

Sometimes I think the "Ping" system is like a defective Star Trek transporter. It sends the words to an uncertain fate in cyberspace.

NaNoWriMo people, my "writing sister" Opal Zushaquon would like writing buddies. Look her up on NaNoWriMo: opalzushaquon. <3! Write on Opal!
