Christina Aguilera Okay With Her Body--And Why Shouldn't She Be?

Curvy Christina is beautiful just as she is.

Christina Aguilera has developed a more voloptuous physique in recent years, and some have felt that it is okay to bash her for gaining weight. But Christina says that she feels fine about being bigger and it isn't a problem for her.

"As long as I'm happy in my own skin, that's all I need, that's all the confirmation I need. I'm happy where I am, I have a boyfriend that loves my body, I love my body, my son is healthy and happy. That's all that matters," she said.

She is absolutely right about this. So many people are dreadfully shallow, and it is encouraged. Who the hell cares what someone's body type is? We should be judging people based on their character, not on their size. Anyone who thinks it's okay to bash people for being a certain size really needs to get a life.

This is my response to a story on The Smoking Gun about a teacher who made a citizen's arrest on a student who was caught with a marker in his possession. Rather than sticking to the point, that being that such an action is ridiculously overblown given the "crime" committed, numerous idiots focused upon the woman's physique--to my dismay, but not at all to my surprise.

While this teacher is obviously an overly dramatic jackwagon looking desperately for some excitement in her life, her size and physical appearance have nothing to do with her attitude. There are some wonderful teachers in this world who are large people and are probably not what mainstream society would consider "attractive." Then again, there are some absolutely deplorable teachers who would be considered attractive and are atrocious human beings who seduce twelve and thirteen year old boys. I would hope that people could keep their assessments of the situation above a junior high level of thinking. This woman's physique has nothing to do with her idiotic behavior in this instance.
Whatever one's size, a sensible person would have simply confiscated the marker and told the young man not to bring one to school again. If he was a repeat offender, he might be sent to the principal's office. The action taken by this teacher was completely over the top and unnecessary.

A "Big" Issue that Should Be a Non-Issue

This was my response to a discussion on a Facebook group about how "Big Beautiful Women" (aka "phat or thick girls") are not "Curvy." Really. What a bunch of damn nonsense! Now big girls of different builds are going to start hating on each other? Do we not have things hard enough as it is in this society that blatantly loathes larger people?

I am just SO. BLOODY. TIRED. of women hating one another and getting into virtual cat fights. "If you're built like this you can't be curvy." "BBW is not the same as curvy."
"Fat is disgusting." "Skinny girls aren't feminine." We all need to get over this! It's dreadful. It is hard enough being a woman in today's world, particularly if you have even an ounce of fat on your body anywhere. There is enough hate from the media without us perpetuating it amongst ourselves.
I always did rather consider myself "curvy" although I am a size 18, which I guess according to you-all would make me a "BBW" and not curvy. Whatever. I'm just a woman. I'm too damn old and tired to fight about it any longer.

We need to stand together, like sisters. Not get into bitch-fights. Being born in the 1960's, I'm a bit of an old-school feminist. Even back in the 1980's it was mostly about earning the right to be treated with equal respect and dignity. I've seen more and more of this trend towards women trying to scratch each other's eyes out these days--over the pettiest things--and it is very distressing to me. Ladies, we still only earn 70 cents for every dollar men earn. It doesn't matter what size we are!
